MARRIED - King-Look - On Thursday evening by the Rev. Mr. Blair, Mr. J. E. King to Mrs. M. B. Look of Clarksville.
We were honored with an invitation to the wedding, but failed to attend, but understand that the fair bride looked very attractive. The happy couple have our wishes for their future happiness.
A lady friend who was present furnished the following ---
Last night the event of the season in society circles, took place at the residence of Mrs. M. B. Look, on the occasion of the celebration of the nuptials of that lady and Mr. King of Dalby Springs [Bowie Co., TX]. The spacious parlors were filled to over-flowing with the best citizens of Clarksville and vicinity, each one seeming to vie with the other to do honor to a lady who is not only an old citizen but a general favorite in the community where she lives -- loved and esteemed for her noble and sterling qualities.
Mr. J. E. King, the groom, is a prominent merchant at Dalby Springs. He is an accomplished, high toned gentleman, highly respected, not only by the residents of his own town, but by any in Clarksville, where he is not entirely unknown.
The bride wore a beautiful, steel-colored, watered silk, elaborated with rich laces, and of course looked handsome, as she always does, whilst the other ladies seemed to even excel themselves in the matter of attire and elegance.
The marriage ceremony, which was appropriate and effective, was performed by Rev. Mr. Blair, of the Methodist church.
In the matter of refreshments, the tables seemed fairly to groan under the weight of luscious salads, oysters, creams, cakes, confections, fruit, &c.
May the light of joy, peace and love, illuminate the pathway of the happy pair through a long and prosperous life.
