I have an oral history from Ida Lonsdale, my father's great aunt starting with Robert Lonsdale and Ann Hill's marriage around 1800 in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Their sons Robert and John (b. 1809) were born in Germantown near Philadelphia. They returned to Leicester, England with their mother after their father's(Robert) death. Subsequently, John married Sarah Fox, had three children, Alfred, Sallie and William and returned to Philadelphia, remaining US citizens. Alfred married Emma Insinger (b. 1845) and had six children, Charlie, Herbert, Lillian, Edward S., Raymond and Elsie. Edward married Lydie M. Neiman and had two children, Eleanor and Robert Edward (b. 1911).
