Hi Carole,
I've just found your message re Richard Longworth from Halliwell in Bolton. My mother was a Longworth, born in Halliwell. As far as I know, there was no Richard in her own pedigree but her gggrandfather, Johnathan L had several brothers and sons although none were called Richard as far as I know. Jonathan was born in 1795 in Tottington, near Bury, but migrated to the area north of Bolton near Belmont and his son and my mother's family lived in the Halliwell area from about 1850 onwards. There were other branches of the Longworth family in the area but I do not have the details to hand at the moment. I know of someone who has done a lot more research on the Longworths in that part of the world. I will ask her if she can help you. (She has traced the line from Jonathan back to a Thomas Longworth who died in 1609. I expect that you may know that there was a township near to Belmont that was called Longworth, and there was a Longworth Manor there. Alas it no longer exists! Good hunting
