My GGGGG grandfather was Longshore Lamb, born about 1755, son of Thomas Lamb 1721 and Alice Longshore. We believe his name may be Moses Longshore Lamb. Alice Longshore was the daughter of Euclydus Longshore and Alice Stackhouse. The Lamb, Longshore, and Stackhouse families were Quakers in PA.Longshore's brother was disowned and the family had to move to SC where Longshore was disowned for marrying an outsider.About 1809 the SC Quakers decided to reject slavery and began migrating north to Indiana. Some of the Lamb stopped in Tennessee, my Lamb family stopped in Kentucky, and some continued to Indiana. We believe the Longshore Lamb born 1780 in SC and died in TN is a grandson of Thomas Lamb born 1721, but we have not identified his father. We have the following information for the Longshore born in 1780.This research was done in 1999 and any correction or update will be appreciated.
Longshore Lamb of Williamson County, Tennessee, was born 1780 in South Carolina.
