Betty, are we related?
Eugene Longpre was my GGGrandfather.

Edouard Alexandre Longpre (b. Forestville, MI 1874- d. Marquete, MI 1960) & his wife Virginia LeVasseur lived in the Marquette area. They had 6 children, the second Leo married Beatrice Bertrand. Leo's sibs were: Edward, Rose, Noah George & Francis. Edouard Alexandre Longpre's parents, Eugene Longpre & Honorine Roy Audy, came from Quebec Province, Canda. Eugene died in Marquette in 1920. This seems to be what you are looking for. I suggest you look under L-O-N-G-P-R-E.
*I had no idea of the change in spelling, except a few of my grandfather's (Leo Lompre) spelled it with an "a" instead of the "e."
