Longoria Land Grants

Hello, my name is Loretta R. Garcia and my ancestor that had a claim to land grants was Matias Longoria Chapa. For years before my brother died, my brother had kept in direct contact with a New York attorney, named Robert Salazar.

Robert Salazar appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court back in the mid 1980's, and was told by the Judge in this court that there was nothing that the United States of America could do about the land grants now because the land was now privately owned, and the money had been paid to Mexico.

I know that this information does not offer much comfort, but I have found knowledge that most of the Longoria’s also have Italian blood, where the Chapa name comes from.

On the following website, you can find Matias Longoria Chapa, and both of his brothers, Vicente, and Pedro Longoria at Chapa: The first 4 generations at http://www.library.ci.corpus-christi.tx.us/lhchapa4.htm.

Also, we have also found that all of us that are related to Matias Longoria or his brothers Vicente, or Pedro are direct descendants of King Ferdinand V of Spain and King Ferdinand II of Aragon. The two King Ferdinands are the same person ruling two different countries. I hope this information helps alittle bit.
