Marie, Thank you for writing back, and especially for the prospect of someone checking the registers for us.
I was at the Dorset Record Office last August, but did not have the time to pursue our problem in depth. I have the impression that the Jane Amey married to Joseph Longman may have been born elsewhere to other parents than Robert Amey and Sarah Randal. I have not looked at my findings for a few months, but will do so. Can't remember why that seemed to be the impression I got.
I was only there for part of a day. Way to little time to do much good, and I was also working on my Hall's in Dorset. I live in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, and my trip home last summer was the first in 36 years. I had so much to do in 17 days. But, it was lovely to be home again for a short while.
There are many researchers working on the Amey line. Jan Doi
