Thank you for the information. It was kind of you to help. I have been trying to sort and place all the people with HIMES, HINES etc. spellings in MARYLAND. I have the theory of search and elimination, that it will eventually place each of them all in their correct families. I have been trying to find the parents of my 2nd great grandpa Jacob William HIMES b. 1810 Washington Co, Maryland and his siblings Henry HIMES b. 19 Sept 1804 MD, Nancy (HIMES) SUMMERS b. abt 1808 MD and Elizabeth (HIMES) HEDDEN/HEDDER RUSSELL b. 12 January 1814 MD. We think their father was probably a John, Jacob or William HIMES or HIME or or HINES or HINE. It was spelled HIMES in Illinois, but Jacob's tomebstone in Shelby Co, IL says Jacob Wm. HINES and beside him his wife Sarah's stone say Sarah HIMES. My grandfather was Ernest Willaim HIMES and my dad is Clarence Lloyd HIMES. So William has been used in the family quite a bit. Dad had a cousin William HIMES. My 2nd great-grandparents Jacob William HIMES & Sarah Lavina (MOSE) named their only son William Henry HIMES. Sarah Lavina(MOSE) HIMES father was named Henry MOSE. So I am thinking Jacob's father might have been a William HIMES. I appreciate your help on the dates for John HINE & Mary LONGMAN. It helps a lot for me to be able to place them in the correct time period. What is your line? Notify Administrator about this message?
