I've been away for a while but very happy to learn that both David and Russel continue to research the Joseph mystery. I have particular interest because I can trace my line directly back to John Longfellow b. January 6,1740, Queen Anne’s County, Maryland or Kent County, Delaware.
I've been corresponding with a librarian in Centerville, Maryland who has graciously offered to help me do some local research and I plan to meet with her in the Spring. I have absolutely no idea for what information I should be searching and no idea whether anything can be learned but off I shall go anyway.
May I ask what you would look for at the Maryland State Archives? I live in Northern Virginia and would be happy to assist if one would provide guideance.
