The mystery of Martin or Morton Keith remains unsolved. On the death certificate of Wesley " Elmer " Keith dated 1929 it idicates his father was Morton Keith and his mother was Rhoda Carnes. I was able to locate a marriage record in Noble County, Ohio dated 1858 between a Martin Keith and a Margaret Sparrowgrove. Another Noble County, Ohio marriage record indicates a Martin Keith to a Rhoda Carnes dated 1868. A Noble County, Ohio death record ledger entry indicates he died of TB in 1869. I was able to trace Rhoda Carnes/Keith in census records to the point she married a John Longfellow. I still need your help !
