Thank you for the information.I wasn't sure how active this board would be.You filled in some blanks for us as we only had the info back to Samuel.
My husband is a junior and the son of William Lloyd (died Dec. 1975 - wife Edna passed away May 1990).We also have a son who is William Lloyd III (b 2/24/76) and a daughter Angela Jean Longenecker Wagner (b 7/6/71).
W. Scott also had a son William W.(Dr. Bill) who passed away in 2001.We never new Scott was Winfield Scott until we read Dr Bill's obit.We met Dr. Bill for the first time when our son was born.It was at the hospital where he practiced, and with the same name, he was getting congratulations on the birth and had to come see who his "namesake" was.
When we were out in 1984 and met with your mother at your sister Pat's house, I wrote down lots of info that we gleaned from both her and Edna that day. That was the day the family reunion was held at the Haldeman Mansion at Bainbridge. We also managed some time to go over to see the quarry at Billmeyer. We got permission to go on the property as they were diving that day. Also to the cemetery. Is this the same one you were referring to or is there another?Sad to say, we have never gotten back.
We have Esther Hiestand's two books, and just acquired a copy of the "History of the J. E. Baker Company" which has a nice chapter on Scott in it.(It is long out of print but was easy to find online from a used book seller.)
Again, thanks for the info. It's a shame that Scott's family broke up the way it did as Bill never knew any of his cousins until we met some at that reunion.
