Ulrich Longenecker, Sr. (from Langnau-im-Emmenthal, Switzerland) arrived in Phila. Aug. 28, 1733 with sons Ulrich Jr. & Jacob. Son John arrived June 27, 1727 and son Christian & daughter? Anna Barbara arrived Aug. 17, 1729. There is no mention of a wife in this group. Doubtful that Anna would have come before him is she was his wife?

The other Ulrich (from Hamburg, Germany, possibly previously from Zurich, Switzerland) is presumed to have arrived accompanied by wife, Elisabeth, sons David & Jacob and daughter Fronica and settled in Chester County, PA probably around 1720/21.

It is suspected that this second group traveled with the family of Rev. Daniel Longenecker (wife Elisabeth, sons David & John, daughters Elisabeth, Ann & Mary) prior to Dec. 15, 1719. They were certainly known to each other, and were possibly brothers, as Ulrich's son Jacob, married the widow of Daniel's son John.

(This information was obtained in 1995 from a Denys Fritch of San Jose, CA as compiled by Wayne Jones in 1973.)
