Lynn, Check with Harvey - He may be of help.

There appears to be four major Longbottom families in America. The
relationship between the four are not known but are highly likely to be
related at some point in time.

The four major groups are

The Connecticut Longbottoms who appear to be the first in America circa
The Virginia Longbottoms were next to arrive circa 1720. (This is my line).
The Canadian/Minnesota Longbottoms arrived in 1844. (This is Milt's line).
The Pennsylvania Longbottoms arrived in 1854. (This is Bob's line).

I realize that there was a Longbottom that arrived about 1900 to Texas but
they have not been in America long enough to really be considered as a major
group. There might be one or more other isolated Longbottoms that have
migrated but I have not discovered them. We also find Judy's Lilburn whose
family she feels came from Ireland. Has anyone heard of an Irish Longbottom

This might help in defining how the American families might fit in.

Researching the following families: Bottoms/Bottom/Longbottom, Keas,
Stribling/Stripling, Chambers, Hodges, Golden, Sweeney, Lovelace, Welch,
Pettit, Cagle and others.
