Hello. Just read your interesting post. Congratulations on inheriting the two paintings. I don't live up that way, either, so, sadly won't be able to view any of his works. The only works of his that I have seen are from six newspaper covers he illustrated, in the early 1920s. I know when he was born and died, otherwise, he is a complete mystery. He was also in some way associated with Harry Stephen Keeler, whom dedicated his novel THE RIDDLE OF THE YELLOW ZURI to him. Keeler was a newspaper editor in the early 1920s for one of the papers that Charles illustrated, so this is clearly how they met (Keeler also edited the spicy/salacious magazine 10-STORY BOOK).
