Fairfield DistrictBe it remembered that
on the 25th day of July in the year
1831 personally appeared before
me Thomas J. Long and David Long
who acknowledge themselves to be
indebted to the State of South Carolina,
that is to say the said Thomas J. in the
sum of one hundred dollars, and
the said David in the like sum of one
hundred dollars to be levied of their
severallands and tenements goods
and chattels respectively to and for
the use of the said state if the
above bound Thomas J. shall fail
in the performance of the con-
dition underwritten
The Condition of this recognisance is such
that if the above bound Thomas J.
shall personally appear before the
Justices of the said state at the next
court of general sessions of the peace,
be holden at the usual place of
Judicature in Winnsboro on the last
Monday in October next, to answer
to an Indictment for an assault and
battery on the body of Robert Park,
and do and receive what shall be enjoyned
by the court and not depart the court
without licence then this recognisance
to be void;otherwise to remain
of full force and virtue

These are, therefore, to command you, forthwith, to apprehend the said Thomas J. Long and to bring him before me, to answer unto the said complaint, and to be further dealt withal according to law.

appeared Robert Parke, Charles Laugh-
lin and Arthur McNeil, who acknowl-
edge themselves to be indebted to the
state of South Carolina, that is to say the
said Robert Parke in the sum of one
hundred and fifty dollars, & the said
Charles Laughlin and Arthur Mcneil
each in the sum of seventy five
dollars, to be levied of their several goods
and chattels lands and tenements
respectively to and for the use of the
of the said State, if the above bound
Robert Parke shall fail in performing
the condition underwritten. The condition
of this recognisance is such that if the
above bound Robert Parke shall be
and appear at the next court of
general sessions of the peace to be held
at Fairfield Court House for said District
on the last Monday in October next
then and there to answer to an indict-
ment for stealing fodder, and do
and receive what shall be enjoyned
by the court, and not depart the
court without license, then this recog-
nisance to be void otherwise to remain

and Arthur McNeal personally came before me
Philip Pullig a justice of the peace for the district
aforesaid, and did acknowledged themselves to
owe to the state of South Carolina, the said Robert
Park & Arthur McNeal each the sum of one
hundred dollars: to be made and levied of their goods
and chattels, lands and tenements respectively,
to the use of the said state if the said Robert
Park shall make default in the condition
under written_ _ The condition of this recog-
nizance is such, that if the above bound Robert
Park shall personally appear before the justices of the
said state, at the next court of general session of the peace
to be holdon at Fairfield court house on the first Monday
after the fourth Monday in October next, then and there
to give such evidence as he knoweth on behalf of the
said state on a bill of indictment to be preferred against
Thomas J. Long for (stealing fodder for which the said Long
is committed) and not to depart thence without leave
of the said court, then this recognizance to be
void, or else to remain in full force and virtue

that if the above bound Robert Park shall
personally appear before the Justices of the
said State at the next Court of the general
sessions of the peace to be holden at the usual
place of judicature in Winnsborough on
the last Monday in October next then and
there to give evidence against T. J. Long
for having committed an assault and
battery on the body of the said Robert Park
and to do and receive what shall beenjoyn-
ed by the court, and not to default the
court without license, then this recog-
nisance to be void, or else to remain
of full force and virture
