I am researching the Long family, and wondered if you would look into your book and see if there is anything on a Richard Long there.
My Thomas D. Long married in Louisa Co, VA to Mary Bond, July 8 1822.I have most of the family from that time thru today.....but, cannot seem to locate the parents of Thomas D. Long.I know that his 4th child Catherine Long In her Declaration of Pension with John Ritchie, as his widow.......she states that she was born 12 October 1829 in Spotssylvania (sp) VA.
I know that this branch of the Longs were then in Kentucky by 1833, and the birth of their 6th child and moved around a lot from Ky, to MO, back to Ky and then to Ark by 1865.
A family history booklet printed in 1924 by a family member states that there was a Captain Richard H. Long that was possibly the father of Thomas D. Long, but, as we have found other errors, this could be an error as well. The booklet also connects the family to Gabriel Long of Culpepper county, and back to England. However, I do not have the definitive link from Thomas to that family, so will not jump to conclusions.
If the book is not too large, is it possible to get copies of the pages about 1790 census, immigrants from England.I will gladly pay for any copies.
thank you
