I do not have this 'mess' straighten out.
I was born in Okolona and left there when I graduated from High School.I went to college at MS College in Clinton and lived in Jackson until 1962.I was married in Jackson and my first two children were born there. Then we moved to Booneville for two years where I worked for a Plastics company in Corinth. Then in 1965 we moved to Nashville TN where I worked for the Baptist Sunday School Board (now LifeWay). In 1983 we moved to Mt Juliet TN where we now live.
There is a story that a daughter of Mathew Culpepper and Elizabeth Long, Elizabeth Culpepper, married one of the Long boys, her uncle.Elizabeth was a sister to my James David. It seems that Elizabeth's first husband disappeared when he went to talk to a neighbor about a gate. Then, according to the story, she married another Long, uncle again, who had a bunch of children by his first wife. She died shortly after this second marriage from a broken heart for her first husband.I do not have marriage dates for her nor a death date.Other people say this Elizabeth died as a teenager. If so, then who is the wife of the two Long boys?I have the names of the Long boys, but will have to look them up.
Royce
