Thank you for your speedy reply.
The William Long I’m searching married Elizabeth Davis in Greenbrier Co, now W. Va., in 1814.A great deal is known about her parents, John Davis and Jane Clendenin Davis.Nothing is known about him.
Jane died in Christian County in 1824 naming in her will daughter Betsy Long and two grandchildren Jane Clendenin Long and Ann Eliza[beth] Long.
The census record for 1820 in Christian Co. shows one male, 26 - 45; two female children under 10, a female 26 - 45 and another female 45 and over.
I take this to be the same family grouping. This is the only Wm. Long I could find in the 1820 census.
My first thought, after seeing your posting, that a connection might be possible but this is not the same family.
I found a Wm Long in the 1810 census for Christian Co. with what appears to be 3 male children under 10, two between 10 and 16, and one male between 26 and 45.The records indicates one female under 10, one 16 to 26 and one 26 to 45.It was very hard to read.
It doesn’t appear that either one of the census records connect with your family.I could not find any Wm. Long in the 1830 census but you say Wm. Long Jr. died in Christian Co. in 1836 so the family may have gone west and returned.Your Thomas is in Missouri.
My Long family went to Missouri circa 1836 and one returned to Greenbrier County circa 1850.
I might suggest that you do a google search for the name Aquillar Long, if you haven’t already. This is an unusual name.Never know what you might turn up.
Deed records have proved to be very helpful to me in sorting out the names.
