Norman B. Long, Fort Smith, Arkansas Obituary Posting
Norman B. Long, 92, of Fort Smith, died November 2, 2004 in Fort Smith. He was a retired Public Accountant, a member of First United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate Sunday School Class, a member of both the National and Arkansas Society of Public Accountants, he was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Infantry where he received the Purple Heart, and he was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Long is survived by a son; Charles N. Long of Fort Smith; a sister Jeanette McElhanon of Hot Springs, AR; two grandchildren Chelsea and Jonathan Long; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary E. Long.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 AM in the Roebuck Chapel of First United Methodist Church and burial will be Monday, November 8th at 10:00 AM in the U.S. National Cemetery of Fort Smith all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Aldersgate Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 till 8 PM.
