Robert Russell - trying to find his birth and parents
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am trying to find the parents of Robert Russell born 1859/1860 and also Roberts birth.
I do know that Robert Russell(age 19) married in 1879 to Harriet Bailey at St. Anns, Soho, Westminster, London. On the marriage certificate he said his father was also Robert Russell, deceased (occupation plumber and glazier)
I have been unable to find Robert jnr birth on the GRO. I have found him in the 1881 census and he says born 1859 St. Martins in the Field, 1891 census says born London, 1901 census says born London and on the 1911 census says born Fleet Street, City of London.
I have found a family in the 1871 census - a Robert (occupation glazier/glass stainer) and Ann Russell with a son Robert born 1858 - address Marlett Court, St. MArtins in the Field, who is the correct age and also a son Charles born 1854. But I cannot trace this family in the 1861 census so I have not definite leads.
In the GRO there is a Robert Russell born March Q Marylebone but the BC says father Edmund, and there is also a June 1859 St. Pancras birth but father Henry, so these have been ruled out.
Can anyone cast a fresh eye over this and see what they can come up with.
Many thanks
Sue
