George, Samuel, Thomas William Lomas 1800 - 1896 Manchester and nearby areas
Am searching (and will gladly share) for information concerning my family tree. Particularly interested in finding information on my great great great great grandfather, George Lomas, (born abt 1800) a master joiner carpenter, who in 1848 practiced his trade in the Manchester area.George (wife may of been Elizabeth) had at least one son, whose name was Samuel Lomas (born abt 1820)who married Mary Sumner.
I believe George Lomas was from Chapel le en Frith,Derbyshire. He was also a farmer of many acres in addition to being a master joiner/carpenter
Samuel Lomas was also a joiner/carpenter. Chapel le en Frith was his birthplace in abt 1821.Samuel and Mary Lomas had three children, Ellen, Elizabeth and Thomas William Lomas (born 1844/1846 and died in 1883)He also lived in Salford.
Thomas William Lomas married Mary Ellen Devanney, who originally hailed from Ireland, moved to Rugeley and settled in Gorton and Glossop. When widowed, Mary married Thomas Bland. They had a daughter Ada and the three moved to Fall River, Massachusetts, USA.
My great grandfather was William Thomas Lomas, the son of Thomas William and Mary (Devanney) Lomas. He moved from Gorton/Glossop/Manchester area to Fall River, Massachusetts.
I have a number of birth, marriage and death certificates, photos and information and will gladly share what I have.
Am particularly interested in finding out more about George and his son Samuel.Particularly who George's parents were. They would of been born around 1780.
