I am so excited to find your post. I recently found the Charles Co MD LWT of William Boswell, f/o Sarah who married Josias Adams.
I am searching for the parents and birthplace of THOMAS BOSWELL ADAMS (1779-1836) of Fredericksburg VA and Copiah Co MS. A VA genealogist pointed me to Charles County MD as a possibility.
I also discovered the LWT of JOSIAS ADAMS d. 1805, Liber AL #12 folio 302, while on a trip to LaPlata and Annapolis. In this LWT the children (no wife) are named:
Thos. B. Adams
Abednego Adams
Mildred Adams
Ann Viletter Adams
As you no doubt are aware, the names Abednego, Josias and Sarah cover several generations and collateral cousins. However the name LODOWICK Adams is more distinctive; and Josias is supposedly the son of Lodowick Adams, s/o Charles, s/o Francis the immigrant.
An Abednego Adams and a Thomas B. Adams are in Prince William Co VA (witnesses to documents), so I think uncle and nephew moved across the Potomac; then Thomas B. moved to Fredericksburg.
Do you have anything to corroborate these possibilties? I particularly need to verify that Sarah Boswell married Josias Adams and that they had a son Thomas Boswell Adams who was born September 1779.
