Hi Wilburn, Thanks for replying. I am related to and working on every one of the surnames you mentioned except for Shields. The Boswell's, Cofer's, Adam's and the Lomax's and the time frame works too. The late 1700s and early 1800s are a very difficult period to research because of poor record keeping, lost materials and fires. So it leaves folks working together from personal family knowledge to put all the pieces together. Now does it indicate where Robin's Delight was located? It depends on what religion your Matthew Coffer was. If Catholic he will probably be buried at St. Ignatius in Port Tobacco or if Episcopal he will probably be at Durham Parish, located in Pisgah. They are among the oldest churches in the county. I would check them first. I would say you have a 80% or better chance at finding him at either one or the other. I am related to the Cofer family through Elizabeth Simmons, daughter of Aaron(my gggggrandfather). She married a Cofer, I think it would have been John. John Lomax's daughter Mary"Polly", married William Alexander Robey, their son William Alexander, Jr., is my gggrandfather. I am related to the Leonard Adams descendents several times and related over and over again to the Boswell's as well. Please keep in touch so that we may be able to connect our mutual families. Thanks again, Wanda Notify Administrator about this message?
