My notes for the 1891 census definitely say that there was a Herbert and no Jim. I will be going to a record office as soon as I can and will double-check that and get their age’s etc.

Now my Herbert was born in London in 1890 after Grandad left Suffolk to seek work I presume.
Grandad became a deliveryman for Selfridges driving a horse drawn vehicle.
The family returned to Felsham somewhere between 1903-1906.to Poplar Farm.
Herbert joined Essex Police in 1914. His address at death was 21 King Edward Avenue Burnham on Crouch.

Gravil Gits is in Stanningfield. I have been in touch with the BS.E Record Office to see if I have the right spelling and I will let you know.
Just read your last message. You have the same complaint as me, Dateitis. Cant wait for next year when the 1901 census is published
