I'm not a descendant of John LOMAS 1833 Chapel-en-le-Frith (I reckon he was a second cousin four times removed, see below) but have an interest in all Lomases in Chapel before 1900.
By a process of exclusion (there are 5 candidate John Lomases), it is likely that the John who married Grace was christened 3 May 1831, son of Jacob LOMAS and his wife Jane SLACK.
The details of the marriage of John LOMAS and Grace HALLAM 16 May 1853 at Stoney Middleton (John's father's name, witnesses) would be useful to confirm this deduction.
