Lawrence Lawler, Ireland to TN, born abt. 1780
I have been trying to locate information that will connect me to my Irish roots. Lawrence Lawler, emigrated to the USA from Ireland, sometime around 1800. He died in Marshall County, Tennessee, in 1845. His wife, Nancy ?, was born abt. 1805. They had 8 children: William A., Nancy N., John M., Abraham, Isaac, Sarah Ann, Rebecca Ann, and Lawrence B. Lawler. After Lawrence's death, his wife and most of the children moved to west central Alabama (Lamar & Pickens counties). My g-grandfather crossed into nearby Lowndes County, Mississippi, about 1890.
If anyone can help me, I would be greatly appreciative, since I am just moved to the United Kingdom (Wales). It only costs about $30-40 to fly round-trip to Dublin from here, so I am hoping to do some serious research over the next few years. BUT, I need a place to start: a county in Ireland where I can begin my research.
Thanks in advance!
William D. Lollar
