Naming Puzzle-Lockridge family, 1815

I have just read Bob Scott's excellent workshop at INgenweb about children being named for famous people (religious or political figures, etc). For years I have been seeking a source for the name of my ancestor, with no luck; perhaps one of you has an idea. His name: Paulis/Paulus Stewart/Steward Lockridge, b. 1815 in Jefferson Co IN, family moved there from KY. Parents and siblings all have the traditional family names: William, Sarah, John, Samuel, George, Elizabeth, etc. He was the second son, so they hadn't run out of familiar names yet. What do you think? Thanks ~ Gayle
