I recently purchased three undated photo portraits (estimated circa 1895-1900) identified on their backs as "Uncle Will Lohr," "Grandfather Lohr," and "Grandmother Lohr." Based on my review of U.S. Census data, I believe these individuals are Peter (a furniture maker/dealer) and his wife, Anna E. Lohr, who immigrated from Germany in 1851 and 1852, respectively, and who resided in Osage City, IA, and their eldest son, William F. Lohr, who, in 1900, was an attorney at law residing in Sioux City, IA. The photos were taken by The Lohr Studio, Orange City, IA (owned and operated by the same or different Lohr family?).
I am searching for a descendant of these Lohrs who would appreciate receiving these photos. Contact me if you wish to view them.
