I never met anyone else in Henry Lohmann's family. My husband met his dad's two sisters when he went back to Germany a couple of times with them. I think that they were on the small side, around 5'. However, my husband is 6'tall. Perhaps he got his height from his mom's side of the family. She was a Reinke from Harborg. I only got to meet two cousins from her family in Germany, when they came here for visits. They were about 5'4", taller than Henry's sisters. I was hoping we had a connection here. Have you tried to find information in Germany? I tried World Gen Web, but it was pretty confusing, so I just got out of it and have stuck more with the message boards and immigration. I found Margaret Reinke, Henry's wife (future wife at the time she immigrated to Ellis Island) when I went to the Ellis Island site. But I'm not sure how to get much farther than that. I can't seem to find early records of the Reinke families or my Henry. I'm not sure at what point in time they became US citizens. I think that one of Margaret's brothers who came here never became a citizen. I have found nothing on census information for them, even though they lived for quite some time in NY. Maybe they "happened" to never be around when the census was taken. They may have been afraid of it, thinking it would be used for something more.
