I have seen those sites, but I also have several that suggest that William the s/o James and Jane was too young--11 when he came.I taught history for several years, and know that England was in a depression at this time. They wanted to export many of their young men to the new world to work, especially clearing trees. They usually sent men about the age of 20.
Now, James had a brother Thomas and wife Susannah who moved to another village in the Bedfordshire area. They also had a son named William who vanishes from the record about 1674 and who would have been about 23 at that time.
