Hi Geneva,
Believe that I threaten to quit daily.
Do you have access to Ancestry?
The only folks I have on my tree are WHEELDINS as I cannot
even find connections to the 26 various spellings I have
come across.
The WEEDEN spelling is the most prominent one, and they appear to be CHICASAW and CHOCTAW----------my Dad always
told us we cannot to BLACKFOOT--------believe my ggrandmother was CHEROKEE from NC, but cannot find a thing
on her BROWN surname line.
Also, suspect that some chose to pass for white, and are lost forever.
Where is your line from?
All family lore told of being FPOC coming from England AS indentured servants w/VA kin and Indian ancestry.
I believe my ggrandfather, WM LAWRENCE WEELDON, Black, was a slave born in 1829 SC-----------it is ALL too mysterious,
but I refuse to give up.
Must go look for the LOGANS and BRUCES that I believe are connected.
Warm regards,
carol.
