Thank you for all of these links. The sad story of his downfall in San Francisco recounted in the "Romances from the Klondike gold Fields" and piecing his life back toegther in Nome, the Arctic Circle, and creating a new life in Los Angeles explained a lot. I had never heard about any of this from my family. Thank you.
