Thanks for the reply and I your reasoning is plausible.

These are my lines, but it seems odd they might have confused the name of his grandmother since she died before Grover was born. :-) And, the names on death records are not always what they appear to be.

On Thomas and Lucy's marriage date, it comes from the book by Helen S. Wishon, Yadkin County Marriages, 1867 - 1902, Thomas age 57 and Lucy age 27. I also looked it up in the Yadkin County marriage records myself and the date is correct so the married 3 years in the census is incorrect. They were married at Lucy's home by Charles L. Gabard, JP; witnessed by D. C. Ballinger, S. M. Vestal, and Octavia Bahnson. Their first child was Sanford LOGAN, bt. abt 1904.

BTW, but Lucy was daughter of William Anderson Jones & Sarah Elizabeth Needham and she was previously married 7-17-1898 in Surry to Cornelius S. Peele, son of Daniel T. Peele & Elizabeth J. Chilton.

Thanks for the post.

Bob
