Thanks for YOUR data.
The given names you mentioned are those from an 18th century Logan family of York Dist SC.One of the daughters married Zadock Packard of New York.
It has been my suspicion, without proof, Robert IS connected, if not a direct descendant, of that family.Believe the Logan man (not sure my memory is correct, but believe his name was Thomas Logan) left a will, which didn't name a son Robert. It does include names of children. One can never know if there were omitted children's names in wills. But, there's no proof there.
Robert Logan of Gilmer and Murray cos GA indicated his birthstate as NC and later SC -- often the case with census data, further obfuscating tracing.
This SC Logan family lived in proximity to Mary Ann Moreland's grandfather John Moreland of York Co SC, the son of a William Logan of York Co VA, whose father was John, who left land in York Co VA to his son Wm; John of York Dist SC inherited his father's land in VA.John of SC sold that land, allowing me to trace him to the VA Moreland family.
When I have a moment to dig out my records, I will be more precise.
Did you find the Logans you mentioned in SC earlier?
How did you trace them to Arkansas?
Robert seemed to have no identiable family in Gilmer Co.The disappearance of Joseph from the Gilmer census led me to "think" he could be father of Robert.
Let's try to work together on this. You can help me and perhaps I have something from York Dist SC records helpful to you.
Joann
