Thank you so much for responding to my query.I made my posting in an attempt to locate the ancestors of Sarah (Wilson) Login.I have struck-out so many times that I was beginning to think that Login was actually Sarah’s maiden name.I cannot conclusive prove the heritage of Amanda "Betsy" Logan.
My great-grandfather was Garrott William Shields of Holton, Kansas. He was the son of Ezekiel Logan (n. Elloitt) Shields, who was supposedly the son of Amanda "Betsy" Login and William Shields. There are no records of William’s marriage to “Amanda” in Indiana at Login’s Fort. The best information I have suggests that William married a Betsy Login in 1813, the same year that Margaret Wilson (?) Shields died.I have nothing that connects Betsy to Amanda or to Margaret Wilson Shields and Sarah Wilson Login.
I believe that the information I have regarding Margaret Wilson Shields and Sarah Wilson Login may be inaccurate. It is interesting that you listed their maiden name as GRANTHAM.Could you please share your reference??My grandmother resigned her membership in the DAR because they would not accept my great-uncle, John Shields’ or my distant cousin, Van Coleman’s information regarding the linage of Margaret Wilson Shields and Sarah Wilson Login.
How did you connect Amanda/Betsy with Garrott William Login in Washington County, Indiana and how did you connect this Garrott William Login to Benjamin Login? If you would prefer to contact me directly, my email address is [email protected].
Thank you again for your reply.I look forward to hearing from you.
