I have a William Ransom LOGAN CRUMMEY (Crumbley)
b: 1850 Talledega, AL d: 1924 Hooks Co, Bowie TX.He was
Chickasaw or Choctaw Indian. My thought on this is that he was either born a LOGAN and raised by the Crummeys or he was a Logan and married into the Crumbley family. At the age of 11, he entered into the Civil War, a Confederate Solider, AL Infantry, Company 31, E.In 1874 he married Nancy ROMAS or Ramos of Cass Co, TX. Their children:
George Washington Crumbley b: 1875 He marries Tennie Jimmie (Chickasaw Indian)
Albert "b: 1879
Dora " b: 1877
Peal
Jewell
James
Jimmey
Most of the children resided in Tishomingo, Pontoco, and Ardmore OK. In 1903 Nancy leaves William because she learns he is Indian. Ironically, most of their children marry Indians.William went to live in Red River Bottom, OK for a number of years.Nancy, in the 1900 Bryant, OK census records shows her head of house hold with her two youngest daughters.Later, Nancy is in Tishomingo, OK and Abilene TX.
