I'm sorry to say that it sounds like our two Logans are not the same.My great grandmother Eliza Logan Davis was born in 1862.Evidence so far is pretty strong that she was born in Missouri.Also, I have not run across a "Professor Logan".
There are an absolute ton of Logans.I never realized it was so common a name until I began attempting to research this ancestor.
Supposedly, there were a lot of Logans with Cherokee blood who came from the hills of northeast GA and vicinity.There are some pretty good Logan web sites available where you might get a line on your ancestor.I don't have any of them available right now because I'm at work (don't tell my boss).
