I am also researching the William M Loftin / Charles T Porter branches. This is my wife's family, my mother-in-law, who is still living (born 1919), is a granddaughter of Annie Mariah Porter, dau of Charles T Porter & Eliza Loftin Porter. I am in posession of a picture taken most likely in the late 1880s of Annie and her husband L. Ephriam Vickery.
My mother-in-law's late cousin (double cousin in fact, Vickery boys married Holley girls) listed the third daughter of William Loftin as Theresa "Treacy" Loftin who married a John Knott and moved to Texas.
There was in the early 1800's a William Loftin (some list him as William M Loftin) living in Henry Co, Alabama - I believe in or around Hartford, Alabama. I have seen listed as his sons, Henry, Charles, John and William - the same names listed as sons for our William Loftin in the Creasy's manuscript. I fear there may have been some overlap or confusion over the two William Loftins which may need to be cleared up. I have several inquires out about this and hope for more information soon.
