Joe, I've now found and followed 2 of the sons of William M. Loftin (1785-1837) - Theophilus F. and Benjamin F. Loftin. Both left N FL and moved to Alabama (Pike & Montgomery Co)in 1840. I've followed Theo's wife Mary (after his death) to her daughter Catherine Curbow's family in Montgomery (1880 census) and Benjamin F. Loftin thru to his son Bruce Loftin (b:1856/AL) and his family living in Elmore, AL in 1900.
Catherine B. Loftin was Wm. M. Loftin's second wife and the mother of his sons. Tearsey West Loftin(Wm's 1st wife) was the mother of Eliza Loftin Porter. Wm. M. & Tearsey West were married in NC about 1806. Eliza Loftin Porter was born in NC in 1811. I have your William Marion Loftin in a "tree" going back to Leonard Loftin (England) and his trip to America in 1660. Let me know if you would find this helpful and I can send it "snail mail".
