Dear sir My Great 6 times grandfather was William M. Loftin as I am the Great x5 times grandson of Charles T. Porter. This geneology research is pretty tough stuff. THEOPHILUS F LOFTIN and CATHERINE B LOFTIN both show to have land patents near the Florida homestead in Washington (Bay) County Florida at the land search files of the Bureau of Land Management General Land Office or BLM GLO. I thought I had found Theo listed as a son on one of the 1840 or 50 censuses but I can not find my records of it. I am searching for any images of William or any of his family. With his county of birth I can start to go upstream now. Thank you for your post. If I find what you are looking for I will let you know. J Porter
