Thomas, I have been extremely busy for several months and checked my email this morning.I don't recall if I answered your message or not, but here is some info.Daniel Loflin (wife Ann) did live in Loudoun Co. during the time you mentioned. They had several sons, one named George (wife was Rosemond). They moved to Ncar where Daniel died.George and Rosemond had a son Daniel (wife Edith Trammel) and by this time they are in Lincoln Co. Georgia. One of their many children was named George (wife - Mary Hancock). They lived in Georgia, Tallapoosa Co., Ala. (where Mary "Polly" Hancock Loflin died). They moved to Jackson Parish around 1880 and joined their son (Henry- wife Eliza Jane Downs Loflin). This George Loflin died in 1891 and is buried in a small cemetery which was on the Old Loflin place near Vernon, Louisiana. His second wife Mary Ann Dobsonor Dopson and her two children from a previous marriage are buried in this cemetery. Also, one of George's sons, John J. (wife Adeline) is buried there. The cemetery is small and fenced in with a chain link fence.Only one monument stands with the name Loflin. One of John Loflin's descendents made a beautiful metal sign and it was placed there about 8 years ago.The gas companies came in and drilled, pushed over our sign, and someone took the sign.We were unable to get someone to make another just like the first. We had the Loflin reunion (descendants of George and Mary Hancock Loflin) met at Concord Methodist Church, Chatham, Louisiana this past weekend. We had a wonderful time and had 68 present. If you are interested in this line, fell free to contact me at [email protected].
