Tom, I think I can help with a few pieces to your puzzle. Elizabeth Loflin, wife of Joseph Loflin was the daughter of Alexander Cathey and Mary Malone Cathey. They are both listed in the Loflin household in the 1850 census. Elizabeth was married to William Chambers before her marriage to Joseph Loflin. William and Elizabeth had the three Chambers children listed on the census, Joseph, John and Mary. I don’t know who the Susan Curry listed on the census is or her relationship to the Loflin/Cathey families. Young A. Loflin whose name in adulthood was Josiah Young Loflin (not sure of the origin of the Young A. recorded on the census) married Sarah Catherine Hines, daughter of Pleasant Hines and Sarah A. Garner. I understand your Elizabeth Walker’s mother was Mary Hines. I suspect Mary was a sister of Pleasant Hines (migrated from Virginia to Tenn.). I also suspect your Lucius Bell was related in some way to either the Loflin or Cathey families. Josiah Young Loflin and Joseph L. Chambers enlisted in the CSA in Tarrant, Hopkins Co., TX in 1861. Josiah Loflin died in 1916 in Coleman County, Texas. Feel free to email me if I can be of further help. Tim Byars tblife@ocsnet.net Notify Administrator about this message?
