Joseph & Elizabeth Loflin are listed on the 1850 Lewis County cencus (see below) and several different family names appear on that record. I do know that Elizabeth was a Cathey, and there is a Chambers, Curry, and a Bell. On the same census there are Walkers & Bells who live down the road from the Loflin family. I am doing research on Lucius M. Bell. He is my ggggrandfather, but I cannot locate him prior to the 1850 census. Thus, am wondering if anyone among the Loflin family has info or a lead on him. He eventually marries Elizabeth Walker (also shown below with her father's family). Lucius, Elizabeth, and some of the Chambers eventually would move to Texas in about 1860, and then return to the Maury county TN area after the war.
Besides the Bell family, I also research Evans, Massey, Rutledge, Walker, and Hines families, since they all seem to travel together / follow each other from VA/SC/NC/GA.
If anyone has any info on Lucius M. Bell (parents, siblings), I would appreciate the the info. You may reply to this query or at my e-mail.
