My Grandmother has a genealogy record that shows the Loflin "clan" originating from Scotland and arriving in the colony of Virginia during the mid to late 1700's. We have record showing that we conducted commerce with President Washington.

I'm not completely sure when, but after the Revolution, a part of our family moved to North Carolina...Randolph county to be exact. A portion of our family remained in Virginia. I have traced ancestry to a few relatives who fought in the Virginia militia during the Civil War. Hopefully this will be enough for me to join the local chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, as I am a big civil war history buff.

Hope this helps.

Steve
