Hello Sheryl,

I think we have a cousin connection here :)

My great grandfather, John Smith Crawford, is the brother of Cynthia (Crawford)Loehr/Telford and Ida E.(Crawford)Loehr. Between reading your message and a couple of others, along with digging through census records since the wee hours of yesterday morning this part of the family puzzle is falling into place.

I was very surprised to find that Cynthia ended up in Iowa. I figured she was left behind in Ohio with the children while John went on his way to Iowa with Ida.

John, their brother, was in Iowa also, that's why it surprised me finding two of his sisters there. He was at the other end of the state in Harrison County. I wonder if they were in communication at all with one another? John was married in Harrison County in 1878. I believe his four children were all born there and he returned to Ohio by the 1900 census, minus the mother of his children.

I've not been able to locate John and his son DeWitt for the 1900 census, any idea where they were for that one? My brain is pretty burn out looking for them all day, your grandfather DeWitt was he the son of John and Cynthia or John and Ida?

Talk to me, Deb
