Dear Sarah,

I don't know if this helps, but my real father was one Norman Lodge of a very large Lodge family who lived in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. I know that they were living there as recently as the 1970's.
Norman married my mother, Freda Kohler, during WW2 in Hull, without bothering to tell her that he was already married with several children back home in Barnsley. I was born in 1943 and within a couple of years he was rumbled by the Military Police and went to jail for 2 years for bigamy.
I met him just once, in the summer of 1968, when I travelled with my mother to Barnsley. He had increased his family by then quite extensively - so I presume that there are still a lot of Lodges (and I probably have quite a few blood brothers and sisters) in the Yorkshire/Barnsley area.
Freda re-married in 1948 and I have 2 half-brothers to my step father, Stanley, who died in 1981.

Best wishes,
