I've since been able to find Lena and her family in the 1930 census.
I got the names reversed and the birth place wrong. She was born Lena Apperson in Missouri. Her mother and father were from Pennsylvania.
In 1930, she lived in Los Angeles with her mother, Anna Apperson, and her sister, Myra Apperson, and her four children: Daniel E. Loder (b. ~1919), Anna Loder (b. ~1920), James Loder (b. ~1924) and my grandmother, Lois Gene Loder (b. ~1928).
I believe Lena's husband was Daniel Loder, born ~1883 in Ohio.He reported to the census-taker that his mother was from Pennsylvania and his father was from Scotland.
In 1930, he considered himself married (Lena considered herself divorced) and lived as a boarder ("roomer", actually) at 769 Stanford in Los Angeles. He was unemployed.
He reported that he was married at the age of 30, ~1917, which would be about two years before Daniel E. Loder was born, and while Lena was about 24 (the age at which she reported she was first married).
Any information on Daniel Loder or any of his children would be greatly appreciated!
