My name is Barbara (Hays) Clayton, wife of Olin D. Clayton. We live in Des Moines, Iowa, but once lifelong residents of Montgomery County, Il. Ended up in Iowa due to plant closure, to prevent losing health care and pension. Anyway, my husband Olin is the son of Dale and Lavonne (Armentrout) Clayton. They both reside in Witt, Il. Lavonne (Armentrout) Clayton is the daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Eddington) Armentrout. Myrtle (Eddington) Armentrout was the daughter of Thomas and Sara Sophia (Eddington) Eddington, both were first cousins. Now, Thomas was the son of Charles and Rebecca (Lockyer) Eddington, both natives of Middlezoy, Somerset, England. Their death records and wills are on file in Carlinville, Macoupin County, Il. They are both buried in Woodburn Cemetery in Woodburn, Il. Rebecca was the daughter of Richard Fields and Nancy (Hawkins) Lockyer. Does anyone know if Richard F and his wife, did indeed come to the U.S. I guess I can check this out, next time we are at home and see if I find anything at the Court House in Carlinville. Would like to communicate with any Lockyer kin from this line. Not certain of the names of Rebecca's siblings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
