Hello Helen,
I can see where you fit in on the tree. How exciting. Please correct any errors - I have Mary Jane marr. Robert Streeting 1904 Uralla - but I only have a record of 2 children - Alfred (m Charlotte Menzies) and Doris (m John Menzies). I can imagine that stories and memories from Doris would bring this people to life.
It is interesting how families can interweave. Another of Andrew and Anne's children, Susan, is the ggrandmother of Brian and Lyn, who are now my stepbrother and stepsister.
Here is a bit of info about Edward and Mary from a family document called "Up from Somerset" by Eileen Marshall.
1809 Edward was born in Bridgwater, Somerset. 1842 19 Sept he married Mary Brewer from Lyng, in Othery, Somerset.
Circa 1863 - 1868 Edward worked on a Somerset farm for a Mr Whitfield. He was approached by A A Dangar ( the fourth son of Henry Dangar) to manage Gostwyck Station, near Uralla. Dangar paid for the family's voyage to Australia, via the "Golden Sea" to Sydney. Joseph was born as the ship crossed The Equator.
There is more, but I'll stop here for now. Is this the sort of info you are after, or do you want more actual family tree bdm dates? Just let me know.
Regards
Sandra
