Christopher and Letitia (Porter) Lockyear are listed in the 1820 Census of Vanderburgh County, Indiana.A group came from England to settle in the area of northern Vanderburgh County.Christopher operated a smithy (the first in the area). He died in the cholera epidemic of 1832 and was buried on the family farm.Letitia then married George Trusler. She is buried in the Asbury Cemetery, Chandler, Warric County, Indiana.John and Christopher, Jr. along with others of the family are buried there also.I have been in contact with a Porter descendent in England and have Letitia's family back a generation or so.She was born Dec. 25, 1780. The Porters were from London area. The Lockyears appear to be from the Lincolnshire area.Hope this helps fill in some of the blanks.
